Argentina
Argentina is a large country at the southern end of America. It is the world's 8th largest country.
The total land area of Argentina is 2,780,400 square km. Argentina has a population of 43,417,000 people. Compared to New Zealand’s population of 4,596,700 people Argentina is big.
Foods of Argentina are four delicious looking appetizers and 9 nice looking main dishes. Grilled meat(cooked on the asado (barbeque) is a favourite. Empanadas are small pastries of meat or hundreds of other fillings are common in lunches. Pizza and pasta is also very popular. Breads and pastries are common all across the country. Desserts, cakes and puddings are also very popular dishes. Dulce de leche is a type of boiled sweetened milk which is very popular. Argentina produces and drinks a lot of wine. Beer is also common in Argentina. Argentinians also enjoy their coffee and tea.
Across the history of Argentina most people lived in rural communities. The Gauchos and their families made up most of this population. A Gaucho is a cowboy or a herds man. They would typically wear a poncho and loose fitting trousers. In the winter they would wear a heavy woolen poncho.
Argentina is a diverse country with a mixture of many cultures, foods, clothing, dance and music.
